Other Tech & AI 30 Sept 2025 Short note
Legal tech at Castrén & Snellman
From autumn 2025 I worked as a legal tech trainee at Castrén & Snellman, helping the firm's lawyers and clients use digital tools, including AI-powered legal research.
I joined Castrén & Snellman in autumn 2025 as a legal tech trainee. The work sits between the lawyers and the software they use.
My focus was the firm’s digital change: introducing and improving digital solutions, and advising on AI-powered legal research tools and other standard platforms. The users were the firm’s own lawyers and its clients. I worked closely with each practice area, so the tools matched how those teams actually work.
It connects to my studies. I am finishing a Master of Laws at the University of Helsinki, specialising in information law and the regulation of data and artificial intelligence. The two fed each other: the law explains why the tools have to behave a certain way, and the tools show where the law gets hard to apply.
One result of the job is public on this site: the Portal videos, short films that explain the firm’s client portal.
